St Louis, MO (July 2, 2022) – One woman was left seriously injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident in St. Louis on Friday morning, July 1. At around 9:25 a.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 70.
Reports provided by authorities show that an unknown vehicle crashed into the rear of a 2016 Dodge Journey while traveling on the westbound side of Interstate 70 just west of Lucas and Hunter Road. The impact of the crash caused the driver of the Dodge to lose control of the vehicle. The vehicle then skidded down the roadway and traveled off the left side. The Dodge crashed into a concrete barrier and collided with a 2019 Nissan Titan. The Dodge and the Nissan were both totaled as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Dodge, 29-year-old Kimberly Allen, sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident. She was transported by Northeast ambulance fire protection District to Barnes Jewish Hospital for emergency medical care.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with Kimberly Allen at this time. We hope for her full recovery.
