Maryville, MO (June 26, 2022) – A truck accident reported in Nodaway County left one woman injured. At around 6 p.m., on June 24, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on US Highway 71.

Reports provided by authorities show that a 2012 Ford and a 2022 Freightliner Cascadia were both traveling southbound on US Highway 71. As the Ford slowed down to make a left turn, it was struck by the Freightliner.

The impact of the crash caused the Freightliner to go off the left side of the road and crashed into a light pole.

The driver of the Ford, 22-year-old Shai Dailey, sustained injuries in the accident. She was transported by Nodaway County ambulance to Mosaic Hospital in Maryville, Missouri for further care.

At this time, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.

Our thoughts are with Shai Dailey at this time. We hope for her full recovery.
