Matthews, MO – Gregory Davies Loses Life in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-55 near MM 58.8

Matthews, MO (June 5, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident that took place in New Madrid County on Saturday morning claimed one man’s life. At around one a.m., on June 4, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that a crash took place on Interstate 55.

MS HP responded to the scene of the crash and located a 2015 Volvo and a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck that collided on the northbound side of the interstate near mile marker 58.8. Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet, 64-year-old Gregory Davies, sustained severe injuries in the accident. Emergency crews arrived at the scene to render aid to the victim. However, he died at the scene of the crash.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
