Parkville, MO – Yolanda Franklin Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on I-435 near MM 20.6

Parkville, MO (June 28, 2022) – One woman was hospitalized with serious injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Platte County. Just after seven a.m., on June 24, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 435.

Reports provided by authorities show that a 2014 Kia Forte was traveling on the northbound side of Interstate 435 when it became involved in a collision with a 2017 Ford escapes near mile marker 20.6. The impact of the crash sent the Kia off the right side of the roadway where it struck a concrete barrier. The Kia was totaled as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.

The driver of the Kia, 48-year-old Yolanda Franklin, suffered serious injuries in the accident. Franklin was transported by ambulance to Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for emergency medical care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
