Poplar Bluff, MO (June 14, 2022) – A crash reported in Butler County sent two women to area hospitals with injuries. At around 5:45 p.m., on June 10, emergency crews were dispatched to a crash that occurred on Highway 142.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol reports, a 2010 GMC Yukon and a 2021 Toyota Venza collided on Highway 142, just 1 mile south of Poplar Bluff. Both vehicles sustained significant damage as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
MSHP and firefighters responded to the site of the crash and immediately closed off a portion of the highway as they worked to clear the scene.
Two women involved in the accident were injured. The victims, 38-year-old Stacy Root and 43-year-old Jennifer Nickerson, were both transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for further treatment of injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
