Scott City, MO (June 9, 2022) – One woman was transported to a local hospital with injuries as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Scott County on Friday afternoon. At around 1:20 p.m., on June 3, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a crash that took place on Interstate 55.
Reports provided by authorities show that a rear-end collision between a 2019 Chevrolet Equinox in a 2013 Honda CRV occurred on the northbound side of Interstate 55 near mile marker 82.6. The crash caused significant delays in the area. Both vehicles suffered moderate damage and had to be towed from the scene.
A passenger inside the Honda, 29-year-old Jamie Carter, sustained injuries in the crash. Carter was transported by ambulance to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for emergency medical care.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is currently investigating the crash.
