Car Accidents in Missouri
Motor vehicle accidents in the state of Missouri are often attributed to some form of negligence. When drivers enter the roadway while engaging in reckless, negligent, and malicious actions, they place the lives of others sharing the road at risk. Some of the leading causes of crashes that we see in our state include:
Impairment: Drivers who enter the roadway while under the influence of drugs or alcohol are likely to cause severe accidents. When drivers are impaired by drugs or alcohol, they often have a challenging time maintaining control of their vehicles. As a result, they are likely to drift into other lanes, run red lights at intersections, and crash into other vehicles sharing the road.
Distractions: Thousands of crashes take place in our state every year as a result of drivers who are distracted. When motorists are texting, talking on the phone, or engaging in other reckless and negligent actions, they are likely to crash into other vehicles sharing the road. We see many accidents take place in congested areas, at busy intersections, and in high speed areas due to drivers who are distracted.
Recklessness: Although drivers are required to maintain safe control over their vehicles, we continue to see innocent people harmed as a result of drivers who are reckless. When motorists run red lights, past stop signs, speed, or engage in other reckless actions, they are likely to cause severe crashes.
