Ste Genevieve, MO (June 9, 2022) – A crash reported in the Ste Genevieve area left one man moderately injured. Just after 4:30 p.m., on June 3, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Route F.

Reports provided by authorities show that an HP Velotechnik Tricycle was traveling on Route F when it was involved in a collision with a 2002 Ford Escape just east of Bloom Road. The impact of the crash caused the Velotechnik to go off the right side of the roadway, overturn, and eject the rider.

The crash caused significant delays in traffic. The police and firefighters close off a portion of the roadway as they work to clear the scene.

The rider, 61-year-old Edward Leibnitz, sustained moderate injuries in the crash. He was transported by LifeNet to Mercy St. Louis for emergency medical treatment.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with Edward Leibnitz at this time. We hope for his full recovery.
