Ste Genevieve, MO – Woman Injured in Motorcycle Crash on I-55 near MM 156

Ste Genevieve, MO (June 30, 2022) – One woman was transported to an area hospital for the treatment of injuries following a motor vehicle accident in Ste Genevieve. Around 10:15 p.m., on June 27, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 55.

Reports provided by authorities show that a 2008 Harley-Davidson Road glide in a 2010 Chevrolet traverse collided on the southbound side of Interstate 55 in the area near mile marker 156. The motorcycle overturned as a result of the accident and traveled off the right side of the roadway. The motorcycle then struck a cable barrier. The motorcycle was totaled as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.

The motorcyclist, 25-year-old Alexus Burgi, suffered injuries in the accident. She was transported to a local hospital in Cape Girardeau for emergency medical care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
