Brighton, MO (March 25, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Polk County ended in injuries. Just before 6:45 a.m., on March 24, emergency crews were requested on-site at a crash on Missouri State Route 13.
Reports from local authorities show that a collision between a 2013 Hyundai Sonata and a 1996 Nissan Pathfinder occurred on Missouri State Route 13 near Missouri State Route 215 during the morning hours.
Both vehicles involved in the accident were totaled. The two vehicles were towed from the scene.
Three people involved in the accident were injured. EMS transported 34-year-old Melody Hicks to CMH Bolivar for medical care. The two other victims, 40-year-old Mercy Karanja and 57-year-old Teresa Camacho, were transported to Cox South Hospital by EMS.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
