Jackson, MO (March 21, 2022) – A 63-year-old man from Jackson was hospitalized following an auto accident in Cape Girardeau County. At around 8:10 a.m., on March 18, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on US Highway 61.
Reports from Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that a collision between a 2010 International fire truck and a 2014 Kia Soul occurred on US Highway 61 at the intersection of Larch Lane. The incident caused delays along the roadway, just three miles north of Jackson.
The driver of the Fire Truck, 63-year-old Peter Bollinger, sustained injuries in the crash. Bollinger was transported to St Francis Medical Center for the treatment of injuries.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
