Jefferson, MO (March 23, 2022) – One woman was left injured following a two-vehicle accident in Jefferson on Monday afternoon. On March 21, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was requested on-site at a crash on US Highway 61.
Reports provided by MSHP Trooper C L Kurtzman show that at around 1:44 p.m., the driver of a 1997 Chevrolet 1500 failed to yield the right of way to a 2014 Ford Explorer on US Highway 61 at the intersection of Miller Road. As a result, the two vehicles collided.
Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Ford, 33-year-old Melissa Herold, sustained injuries in the crash. Herold was transported by Rock Township Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital – Jefferson for further care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
