Joplin, MO (March 24, 2022) – One woman was left with moderate injuries as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Jasper County. At around 10:50 a.m., on March 23, calls for assistance came in surrounding a crash on Highway 66.
Reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a collision between a 2011 Chevrolet Impala and a 2000 Ford F-150 occurred on Highway 66 just one mile west of Joplin.
The incident left both vehicles totaled. The vehicles were towed from the scene.
The drivers of both vehicles sustained injuries. 21-year-old Mason Forbis was treated for injuries briefly on-site. The second victim, 34-year-old Jessica Smith, was transported by EMS to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri for the treatment of moderate injuries.
At this time, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating to determine the cause of the crash.
