Lee’s Summit, MO (March 23, 2022) – A two-vehicle accident reported in Jackson County left two people injured. Just after 5 a.m., on March 22, emergency crews were requested on-site at a traffic-related incident on Interstate 470.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2000 Mitsubishi was stopped in the center lane of southbound Interstate 470 near mile marker 10, for unknown reasons. A 2004 Honda passing through the area then struck the Mitsubishi. Both vehicles sustained significant damage in the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
The drivers of both vehicles were injured. EMS transported 35-year-old Pedro Bonilla of Los Angeles, California, and 42-year-old Nicole Alley of Independence, Missouri to Research Hospital for further care.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
