Neosho, MO (March 12, 2022) – One man was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries after a crash in Newton County. At around 7:50 a.m., on March 11, emergency crews were requested on-site at a traffic-related incident on US Highway 60.
Reports from authorities show that a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe crashed into the rear of a 2014 Freightliner on US Highway 60 just four miles west of Neosho. The impact of the crash caused the Freightliner to strike a 1997 Jeep Cherokee. The Cherokee then went off the side of the road and overturned.
The driver of the Jeep, 53-year-old Edwin Jante, sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Jante was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
Our thoughts are with Edwin Jante at this time. We hope for his full recovery.
