St Louis, MO (March 12, 2022) – At around 8:45 p.m., on March 10, emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a traffic-related incident on Interstate 55.
Reports from Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that a 2014 Hyundai Elantra and a 2006 Lexus GX4 collided on the southbound side of Interstate 55 in the area just south of Meramec Bottom Road.
The incident left both vehicles totaled, requiring them to be towed from the scene. MSHP and firefighters secured the area as medical personnel rendered aid to the victims.
Both 29-year-old Heather Culley and 47-year-old Virgie Chaffen sustained significant injuries as a result of the accident. EMS transported the two women to Mercy Hospital South where they received emergency medical treatment for moderate to serious injuries.
At this time, investigations to determine the cause of the crash are underway.
Our thoughts are with Heather Culley and Virgie Chaffen at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
