Cape Fair, MO (May 20, 2022) – An auto accident reported in Stone County claimed the life of one woman on Monday afternoon, May 16. At around 12:40 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Missouri State Route 76.
Reports from MSHP Trooper ML Harris show that a collision between a 2019 Mitsubishi Marage and a 2015 Ford Focus took place on Missouri State Route 76 just five miles east of Cape Fair. Both vehicles were totaled as a result of the accident.
Both drivers suffered significant injuries in the accident. EMS rushed 50-year-old Robert Pierce to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for the treatment of moderate injuries. The driver of the Mitsubishi, 61-year-old Pamela Humiston, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
