Chaffee, MO (May 21, 2022) – A motor vehicle accident reported in Scott County left one man injured. At around 6:40 a.m., on May 18, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, firefighters, and emergency medical services were all dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Route M.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2020 Chrysler Pacifica was traveling on Route M just 2 miles north of Chaffee. For unknown reasons, the driver failed to yield the right-of-way to a 2000 Mercury Cougar. As a result, the two vehicles collided.
Both vehicles suffered significant damage as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Mercury, 19-year-old Michael Crittenden, suffered injuries as a result of the accident. He was transported by ambulance to Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
At this time, investigations surrounding the accident are underway.
