Chillicothe, MO – Four Injured in Truck Crash on US-36

Chillicothe, MO (May 24, 2022) – A crash reported in Livingston County has left several people injured. Just before 1:30 p.m., on May 23, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident that took place on US Highway 36.

Reports provided by MSHP Cpl. JE Hainey indicate that a collision between a 2020 Dodge Ram 5500 and 82,019 Freightliner occurred on US Highway 36 just 3 miles east of Chillicothe. The incident left both vehicles totaled, requiring them to be towed away from the crash site. MSHP and firefighters closed off a portion of the roadway as they work to clear the area.

A total of four people involved in the crash were injured. EMS rendered aid to 19-year-old Taylor McCannon, 24-year-old Gary Varner, 44-year-old Augustin Sanchez Alvarado, and 59-year-old Richard Cook at the scene. The four victims were then transported by Livingston County ambulance to Hedrick Medical Center for further treatment of injuries.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
