Excelsior Springs, MO (May 25, 2022) – An auto accident reported in Clay County on Monday morning claimed one man’s life. At around 10:12 a.m., on May 23, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on US Highway 69.
Reports from authorities show that a collision between a 2000 Dodge and a 2012 Nissan occurred on US Highway 69 at the intersection of North Jesse James Road. The impact of the crash caused the Nissan to strike a 2019 Chevrolet. The Dodge then overturned into a ditch, ejecting the driver.
The driver of the vehicle, 30-year-old Richard Dobbins, sustained fatal injuries in the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 54-year-old Jon Webber, was transported to Mosaic Hospital for the treatment of injuries. A passenger in the Nissan, 37-year-old Amber Beverlin, was transported to Excelsior Springs Hospital for further care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
