Lebanon, MO (May 9, 2022) – One woman was left injured as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Laclede County on Saturday afternoon, May 7. At around 3:40 p.m., the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Interstate 44.
Reports provided by authorities show that a 2015 Peterbilt tractor was driving on Interstate 44 when it merged from the right lane into the left lane and struck a 2014 Ford Escape just one mile east of Lebanon.
The incident caused both vehicles to go off the roadway and into the median. The vehicles were both heavily damaged and had to be towed from the scene.
EMS transported a passenger in the Ford, 65-year-old Karen McDermott, to Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri for medical care.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
