Car Accidents in Missouri
Every month, over 5,000 people are hurt in motor vehicle crashes in the state of Missouri. These crashes are often caused by drivers who engage in reckless and negligent actions while operating their vehicles. We see a significant number of crashes caused by:
Speeding: When motorists travel above the posted speed limit, they are less likely to be able to control their vehicles when they are required to stop suddenly to avoid a collision.
Impairment: Even though we have numerous laws in place to prevent people from entering the roadway while impaired, we continue to see a significant number of people harmed as a result of drunk and impaired drivers.
Distractions: One of the leading causes of crashes in our states is drivers who are distracted. Using cell phones, eating, talking to other people in the vehicle, and changing the radio station are just some of the things that take drivers’ attention off the road. Even a moment of inattention can have devastating consequences.
Failing to yield: When drivers fail to yield the right-of-way to others, they can cause life-changing crashes that result in painful injuries. Failing to yield the right-of-way to others while switching lanes, making turns at intersections, and traveling through busy areas can result in severe injury accidents.
