St Louis, MO (May 22, 2022) – One woman was transported to a local hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident that took place on Thursday morning in the St. Louis area. At around 11:20 a.m., on May 19, the Missouri State Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene of an auto accident on Interstate 270.
Reports provided by MSHP Cpl. ZS Wang indicate that a 2006 Volvo XC90 and a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado collided on the eastbound side of Interstate 270 on the exit ramp to New Halls Ferry Road. The impact of the crash caused the Chevrolet to strike a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck.
The Chevrolet and the Volvo both suffered extensive damage as a result of the accident and had to be towed from the scene.
The driver of the Volvo, 42-year-old Regina Carpenter, sustained injuries in the accident. Carpenter was transported to SSM Health Depaul Hospital by Christian Hospital EMS for emergency medical care.
At this time, the cause of the crash is under investigation.
