The Honda was totaled in the accident.
The driver of the Honda, identified as Reece, was fatally injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Scott County Coroner David Scott Branam.
At this time, the incident remains under investigation. No other injuries were reported.
Our condolences are with the family of Lauren Reece at this time.
Fatal Truck Accidents in Missouri
Each year, thousands of people across the United States die as a result of truck accidents. When innocent victims lose their lives, families are often able to take legal action against the responsible party. Truck accident lawsuits can be complex, and the amount of compensation you may be entitled to will depend on a number of factors.
To start, it’s important to understand that there are two types of compensation in a personal injury or wrongful death lawsuit: economic damages and non-economic damages. Economic damages are designed to provide compensation for families to alleviate some of the costs they face as a result of the death. Non-economic damages provide compensation for all other losses that a family endures.
In a truck accident lawsuit, economic damages might include:
- Medical expenses leading up to the death
- Funeral and burial expenses
- Lost wages (if the victim was employed at the time of the accident)
- Loss of future earnings (if the victim was not employed at the time of the accident)
Non-economic damages might include:
- Pain and suffering
- Loss of services
- Loss of companionship

- And more
