Fatal Truck Accidents in Missouri

Bourbon Township, MO - Danny Stidham & Carl McDonald Killed in Truck Crash on US-64 near Route NNCrashes in the state of Missouri often have devastating consequences. Regrettably, when semi-trucks and commercial vehicles are involved in these accidents, the chances of severe and fatal injuries are drastically increased. Each year, more than 1000 people die as a result of traffic accidents in the state of Missouri. Regrettably, rear-end collisions make up a significant number of crashes that claim the lives of innocent people in our state each year.

There are a number of factors that contribute to the high rate of rear-end collisions involving semi-trucks. First, the size and weight of semi-trucks make them difficult to stop quickly. Semi-trucks require up to 40% more distance to stop than a passenger vehicle, even when both are traveling at the same speed.

Another factor that is common in fatal rear-end truck accidents is driver fatigue. Due to long hours on the road, many truck drivers suffer from sleep deprivation, which can impair their ability to drive safely.

Lastly, poor road conditions can also contribute to rear-end collisions involving semi-trucks. Icy or wet roads make it even harder for trucks to stop quickly, while potholes and other obstacles can cause a driver to lose control of their vehicle.
