Canton, MO (November 22, 2022) – Several victims were left injured as a result of a vehicle accident that occurred in Lewis County on Tuesday afternoon. Calls for help came in at around 2:20 p.m. on November 22.
According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2020 Ford Ranger turned left into an emergency crossover on US Highway 61 just one mile south of Canton, Missouri. As the vehicle crossed in front of a 2022 Lexus, the two vehicles collided. Both vehicles were severely damaged in the crash.
Four people suffered injuries due to the crash. EMS responded to the scene and provided treatment to 71-year-old Susan Spurgeon, 59-year-old Mary Sherlock, 18-year-old Natalie Costello, and a 16-year-old female. All four victims were transported by ambulance to Blessing Hospital, where they underwent further medical care.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is conducting a crash investigation.
