Car Accidents in Missouri
Every year, thousands of people in Missouri are hospitalized with injuries following car crashes. Many of these accidents are preventable. We see many people who are harmed as a result of crashes that take place at intersections throughout our state.
According to a recent study, car accidents caused by drivers who failed to yield at intersections are on the rise. In fact, they’re now the leading cause of intersection-related accidents in the United States. Drivers who do not stop at stop signs or pass through red lights tend to cause serious injuries to others.
There are a number of reasons why these accidents take place. First, more cars are on the road than ever before. With more traffic comes more opportunities for accidents. Second, distracted driving is becoming increasingly common. We see many people texting or talking on the phone while operating the vehicle. Not having your attention on the road ahead can easily cause you to miss a stop sign or a red light while traveling through an intersection.
Whatever the reason, it’s important to be extra vigilant when approaching intersections. Look both ways before proceeding and always be prepared to stop if necessary.
