Fatal Car Accidents in Missouri
No parent should ever have to deal with the loss of their young child. Unfortunately, there are cases where car accidents lead to the wrongful death of a child. If your child has been killed in a car accident, you may be able to take legal action against the person who is responsible.
In Missouri, you can file a wrongful death claim if your child died in a traffic accident that was caused by someone else’s negligence. In order to win your wrongful death claim, you will need to prove that the other driver was negligent and that their negligence resulted in your child’s death. This could be showing something like the driver was speeding, they were impaired, or they were engaging in another reckless action while operating the vehicle.
If you are able to prove negligence with your case, you may be awarded financial compensation for some of the damages that your family has endured. This can include compensation for your child’s pain and suffering before their passing, loss of future earnings, funeral and burial expenses, and more.
While no amount of money can truly make up for the loss of a child, filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the responsible party can help ease some of the financial burdens that come with such a tragedy.
