Jefferson, MO (November 9, 2022) – A traffic accident took place in Jefferson County that left one man injured. On November 6, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 55. According to reports, at around 11:30 a.m., a group of vehicles was traveling in the left lane on Interstate 55 on the northbound side of the highway. As the vehicles began to slow down due to congestion in the area near Highway a, the front of a 2017 GMC Sierra crashed into the rear of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee.
The impact of the crash caused the Jeep to move forward and strike a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado. The front of the Silverado then struck the rear of a 2013 Dodge ram 1500 pickup truck. The Dodge ram then crashed into the rear of a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder. The Jeep also collided with the Dodge as a result of the collision. Several involved vehicles had to be towed from the scene of the accident as a result of the damage they suffered.
A passenger in the Jeep, 44-year-old Andrew Hasenmeier, suffered injuries in the accident. He was transported to Mercy Hospital South, where he underwent treatment for moderate injuries.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash at this time.
