Motorcycle Accidents in Missouri
Motorcycle accidents take place far too often in our state. In many cases, victims who are involved with them are left with significant injuries. Unfortunately, many people are hurt in motorcycle accidents as a result of drivers who negligently share the road with them.
Speeding cars are a major hazard for motorcycle riders. In many cases, speeding cars simply do not see motorcycles on the road. Even if they do see them, they may not be able to stop in time to avoid an accident.
Drivers who fail to yield are also a major danger to motorcycle riders. Motorcycles have the right of way in many situations, but drivers often do not see them or yield to them. This can lead to tragic consequences.
Finally, drivers who fail to check their blind spots are also a major cause of motorcycle accidents in Missouri. Motorcycles are much smaller than other vehicles on the road, which means they can easily be hidden in a driver’s blind spot. If a driver doesn’t check their blind spot before changing lanes, they could easily collide with a motorcycle that they never saw coming. Although all drivers should regularly check their blind spots, many do not. This can result in serious accidents when a motorcycle is in another vehicle’s blind spot.
