Kansas City, MO (November 21, 2022) – A traffic accident took place in Clay County on Saturday evening that left three people injured. On November 19, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on Interstate 35.
At around 10:45 p.m., a 2014 Buick SUV was traveling on the southbound side of Interstate 35 when it became involved in a collision just south of Armour. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway and crashed into a guardrail before striking a road sign. The vehicle was totaled as a result of the accident.
Three people sustained injuries in the crash. The three victims, 39-year-old Melissa Lawson, 39-year-old Joshua Lawson, and 37-year-old Danielle Standley, were treated at the scene. Melissa Lawson was transported to a KU Medical Center for the treatment of injuries. Standley was transported by ambulance to Truman Medical Center, where she underwent emergency care.
The crash remains under investigation.
