Kennett, MO – Mary Walker, Susie Cortez & 10-Year-Old Hurt in Auto Wreck on Highway 25

Kennett, MO (November 7, 2022) – A traffic incident took place in Dunklin County that left three people injured. At around 10:55 a.m., on November 5, emergency crews were called to the scene of a traffic accident on Highway 25.

According to reports provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu failed to yield the right-of-way to a 2008 Chevrolet Impala on Highway 25 just half of the mile north of Kennett, Missouri. As a result, the two vehicles collided, resulting in totaling damages for both.

Three victims who were in the crash suffered injuries. The injured parties were identified as a 10-year-old male, 38-year-old Susie Cortez, and 71-year-old Mary Walker. Cortez and the child were transported to Piggott Community Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries. Walker was transported by medical one to Arkansas Methodist Hospital for emergency care.

The crash remains under investigation.
