Car Accidents in Missouri
Traffic wrecks take place every single day in the state of Missouri that result in devastating injuries. Unfortunately, rear-end accidents take place quite often. There are many different factors that can contribute to a rear-end accident. Driver negligence is the most common cause of these types of accidents. This can include actions like:
- Driver Error: The leading cause of rear-end accidents is driver error. This can involve everything from tailgating to distracted driving. Drivers need to be aware of their surroundings at all times and leave plenty of space between themselves and the car in front of them. Following too closely is not only dangerous but illegal in most states. If you can’t stop in time, you’re likely to rear-end the car in front of you.
- Distractions: It’s important to pay attention to the road when you’re driving, but there are many things that can take your focus away from the task at hand. Distractions can come in many different forms, such as fiddling with the radio, talking on the phone, or even passengers in the car who are being disruptive. It’s important to keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel at all times.
- Road Conditions: Poor road conditions can also lead to rear-end accidents. This is especially true if the roads are wet or icy. Heavy fog can also lead to devastating rear-end accidents.
