Car Accidents in Missouri
A traffic accident can change your life instantly. Regrettably, the consequences that victims are forced to endure are often lasting. Many people are left with crippling injuries that force them out of work forever. Injuries like spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, and even internal organ damage can all require extensive care.
Regrettably, the majority of accidents that take place in the state of Missouri are preventable. In fact, statistics show that nearly 4 out of every five accidents that occur are a result of driver error.
One of the most common and dangerous driving behaviors is running red lights. Every day, countless drivers speed through intersections without stopping, increasing their chances of crashing into another vehicle. This aggressive behavior puts other drivers and pedestrians at risk and often results in serious accidents.
Failing to yield is another major cause of car crashes. When making a turn, all drivers are required to yield to oncoming traffic. But many drivers fail to do so, often because they’re in a hurry or they don’t see oncoming traffic. This can lead to serious accidents.
Speeding is also a major factor in car crashes. Drivers who exceed the posted speed limit are more likely to lose control of their vehicles and are less likely to be able to stop in time if an obstacle suddenly appears in their path. Accidents that involve speeding vehicles are also more likely to result in severe injuries for those involved.
