Oak Ridge, MO (November 17, 2022) – A vehicle crash took place in Cape Girardeau County that sent two people to area hospitals with serious injuries. On November 16, at around 8:10 p.m., a crash took place on Interstate 55.
Preliminary investigations provided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol show that a 2008 Honda Civic was involved in a collision on Interstate 55, along the southbound side of the roadway near mile marker 114.8 the impact of the collision sent the vehicle off the side of the roadway where it struck a cable barrier.
The vehicle then returned to the roadway and traveled off the right side of the road, and struck an embankment. The vehicle was totaled in the crash.
18-year-old Nathaniel Wallace and a 15-year-old male, both from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, both suffered serious injuries in the crash. The two victims were transported by ambulance to St. Francis Hospital, where they underwent emergency treatment.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
