Car Accidents in Missouri

Odessa, MO – Route OO Crash near Odessa Lake Rd Ends in injuriesBeing involved in a motor vehicle accident contained your life forever. Trying to overcome physical and emotional injuries can be challenging. Regrettably, the state of Missouri sees tens of thousands of people hurt as a result of crashes every year.

There are many reasons why we continue to see crashes day after day in our state. First, Missouri has a lot of rural roads. These roads can be more dangerous because they often have less lighting and fewer lane markings. They can also be more difficult to navigate, which can lead to mistakes being made by drivers. Early in 2022, the state proposed a $100 million rural road project, which we hope will tackle some of the problems that we see contributing to accidents across our state.

Second, Missouri has a high number of teenage drivers. Teenagers are more likely to be involved in car accidents than any other age group. This is likely due to a combination of factors, including inexperience behind the wheel and recklessness.

Accidents that are caused by distracted drivers and other reckless and negligent actions often result in drivers crossing over the center lanes. There are a number of reasons why drivers cross over the center lanes and enter the lanes traveling in the opposite direction. Sometimes, they are simply not paying attention to the road and veer into oncoming traffic. Other times, they may be trying to pass another vehicle and misjudge the distance between them and oncoming traffic.
