Rolla, MO (November 6, 2022) – A serious traffic accident took place in Phelps County on Saturday afternoon that claimed one man’s life. At around 2:38 p.m., on November 5, emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash on US Highway 63.
Preliminary investigations show that a 2015 Honda accord was traveling on US Highway 63 when he became involved in a collision with a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado just south of Country Road 5030. The Honda collided with the trailer of the truck and then crashed into a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.
The Honda in the 2005 Chevrolet was totaled in the accident.
A 65-year-old man involved in the crash, identified as David Dorrough from Rolla, Missouri, was rushed to Phelps Health Hospital in Rolla, Missouri, where he died from his injuries.
Two other victims, 21-year-old Wyatt Varner and 20-year-old Pepper Morrison, were both seriously injured in the crash. Morrison was flown by Air EVAC 18 to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, for emergency treatment. Varner was transported by Arch 6 to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
