Salem, MO (November 6, 2022) – A traffic accident took place in Dent County that claimed the life of a 60-year-old man from Salem, Missouri. At around 12:25 p.m., November 5, the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of a crash on Highway 19.
Preliminary reports show that a 2014 Chevrolet suburban slowed down to make a turn on Highway 19 just four miles north of Salem, Missouri, when it collided with a 2005 Kawasaki Vulcan. The motorcyclist was ejected from the vehicle and struck by a 2001 Jeep Cherokee.
The motorcyclist, 60-year-old Dennis Pewitt of Salem, Missouri, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
