Salisbury, MO (November 9, 2022) – The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that a traffic accident took place in Chariton County that claimed the lives of 27-year-old Chevy Ingebritson and 57-year-old Paul Busto.
Preliminary reports surrounding the crash show that at approximately 5:30 p.m., on November 6, a 2009 Ford Mustang was traveling eastbound on US Highway 24. At the same time, a 2016 Chevrolet Equinox was traveling westbound on the same roadway.
The two vehicles collided head-on just three miles east of Salisbury, Missouri. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the scene with the assistance of the Salisbury Police Department, the Salisbury fire department, the Chariton Sheriff’s Department, and a helicopter from Missouri University Hospital.
The driver of the Ford, identified as Busto, and a passenger in the Chevrolet, identified as Ingebritson, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 31-year-old Cody Oldham, suffered serious injuries. He was transported by helicopter to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, where he underwent emergency care.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
