Car Accidents in Missouri
Crashes take place frequently in the state of Missouri that result in significant injuries for those involved unfortunately, there are many reasons why these accidents continue to take place, despite all of the laws in place to protect motorists.
Speeding is often one of the most commonly cited factors in vehicle collisions. When drivers are speeding, it increases the chances of them losing control of their vehicles. In addition, accidents that involve speeding drivers are often more severe than other types of collisions.
Another leading cause in crashes is impairment. When drivers are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, or even over-the-counter medication, they can have problems operating the vehicle in a responsible manner. Impairment slows reaction time, diminishes coordination, and impairs judgment. All of these factors can lead to an increased chance of being in a car accident.
Finally, distractions are one of the most common factors in vehicle collisions that we see in the state of Missouri. Distractions can be anything outside of the vehicle, like another person walking nearby or a structure, or anything inside of the vehicle, such as a passenger or a cell phone. People who are distracted are not maintaining control of their vehicles in a safe manner. Distracted drivers often strike other vehicles or objects nearby.
