Car Accidents in Missouri

Springfield, MO – Jennifer Evans & Terry Alvey Injured in Auto Wreck on Route HIt is nearly impossible to prepare for the impact that a motor vehicle accident will have on your life. Regrettably, countless people in our state are harmed every single year. Many of these accidents take place when drivers cross over the centerline of travel.

There are a number of reasons why vehicles may cross over the centerline and strike another vehicle head-on. Some of the most common causes include:

  • Driver distraction: Distracted driving is one of the leading causes of accidents on the road today. When drivers take their eyes off the road, even for a few seconds, they increase their risk of veering into oncoming traffic.
  • Intoxication: Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol is extremely dangerous and increases your chances of crossing over into oncoming traffic.
  • Fatigue: Drowsy driving is another major cause of head-on collisions. When drivers are tired, they may have trouble staying in their lane and may drift into oncoming traffic.
  • Weather conditions: Bad weather can make it difficult to see other vehicles on the road, which increases the risk of a head-on collision. Additionally, slick roads can make it harder to control your vehicle, increasing the likelihood of crossing over into oncoming traffic.
