Car Accidents in Missouri
Every year, thousands of people in Missouri are hospitalized with significant injuries as a result of auto wrecks. There are countless cases where innocent drivers and passengers are injured as a result of accidents that are completely preventable. One of the most common preventable types of collisions are rear-end accidents.
Speeding is one of the most common contributing factors to rear-end collisions here in Missouri. When drivers are traveling above the posted speed limit, it takes longer to stop their vehicle, which can make it difficult to avoid a collision with the vehicle in front.
Failing to yield is another dangerous behavior that is the cause of serious rear-end crashes across the state. When drivers fail to yield, they delay other drivers who have the right-of-way, and this can cause them to brake suddenly or swerve out of their lane. This puts everyone on the road at risk, and it’s simply not worth it.
Tailgating is also a major contributing factor in rear-end collisions in Missouri. When drivers tailgate other vehicles on the road, they significantly decrease their reaction time if they need to brake suddenly. Tailgating can make it so you do not have enough time to stop completely or that you swerve into oncoming traffic.
If you have been hurt as a result of a rear end crash that was caused by a driver’s negligence, you may be able to take legal action. A St. Joseph car accident lawyer can help explore the legal options that are available to help you get justice.
