Car Accidents in Missouri

St Louis, MO – Four-Vehicle Truck Crash on I-270 near MO-370 Ends in InjuriesIn Missouri, we see tens of thousands of innocent people hospitalized annually as a result of crashes in our state. Many people are hospitalized with trauma to the head, spinal cord fractures, and even severely broken bones. In Missouri, car accidents are often caused by driver error. Some of the leading causes of crashes that we see include:

Failing to yield: Drivers who fail to yield when they should can cause serious crashes, especially at intersections. When making a turn, all drivers must yield to oncoming traffic before proceeding. Drivers who fail to do so can cause serious collisions.

Fatigued driving: Drivers who are tired are more likely to make mistakes that could lead to a crash. If you’re feeling tired while driving, it’s important to take a break as soon as possible. Pull over at a rest stop or find somewhere safe to park and take a nap if needed.

Distracted driving: Drivers who take their eyes off the road, even for a few seconds, can miss important cues that could help them avoid a crash. Distractions can come in many forms, including cell phones, navigation systems, passengers, and more.

Speeding: When drivers exceed the posted speed limit or drive too fast for conditions, they put themselves and others at risk. Speeding makes it difficult to stop or maneuver in an emergency, and increases the severity of a crash if one does occur.
