Truck Accidents in Missouri
Truck accidents can be incredibly devastating. People who are involved in these accidents, especially those in small passenger vehicles, are likely to suffer severe injuries. Unfortunately, truck accidents take place frequently in the state of Missouri that completely change the lives of those involved.
There are many factors that contribute to truck accidents in the state of Missouri, but some are more common than others. Some of the leading causes of truck accidents, according to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, include:
- Drunk driving. Alcohol impairs judgment and reaction time, making it one of the most significant factors in car accidents.
- Distracted driving. With the rise of mobile technology, drivers are increasingly being distracted by their devices while behind the wheel.
- Exceeding the posted speed limit or driving too fast for conditions is a leading cause of car accidents.
- Reckless driving. Aggressive behaviors like tailgating, weaving in and out of traffic, and making illegal maneuvers are all types of reckless driving that can lead to accidents.
- Fatigued driving. Drowsy driving is just as dangerous as drunk driving, as it can similarly impair judgment and reaction time.
