Washington, MO (November 15, 2022) – Two teens suffered injuries due to a traffic accident that occurred in Washington County on Monday morning, November 14. The Missouri State Highway Patrol was notified that a crash occurred on Missouri State Route 21 at around 11:25 a.m.
According to preliminary investigations, a crash between a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox and a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina took place on Missouri State Route 21 in the area of Flamewood Road.
Further reports surrounding the accident show that the Chevrolet Equinox was attempting to make a right turn onto Flamewood Road from Missouri State Route 21. The driver of the Lumina abruptly applied the brakes, causing the vehicle to skin and strike the rear of the Chevrolet equinox. The impact of the crash caused the equinox to rotate clockwise and over turn multiple times. The driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male, was ejected.
The teenage driver and his passenger, a 17-year-old female, were both transported by ambulance to Washington County Memorial Hospital, where they underwent treatment for their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
