Wayland, MO (November 6, 2022) – A 42-year-old man from Fort Madison, Iowa, was left seriously injured as a result of a multi-vehicle truck accident that took place in Clark County. On November 3, the Missouri State Highway Patrol received notification that a crash occurred on US Highway 136.
According to local law enforcement, at around 12:15 p.m., a 2015 Jeep latitude slowed down to make a left turn on US Highway 136, just two miles west of Wayland, Missouri. For unknown reasons, the vehicle was struck in the rear by a 1991 Peterbilt Tudor. The vehicle then struck a 2007 Ford F4 50. The Jeep and the Ford were both left severely damaged.
A 42-year-old man involved in the accident, Jeremy Smrt, was left with serious injuries. Smrt was transported by ambulance to Blessing Hospital, where he underwent emergency care.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
