Car Accidents in Missouri
Losing a loved one as a result of a fatal car accident can be a devastating experience for your family. Regrettably, more than a thousand fatal crashes take place in our state every year. There are countless instances where innocent people die as a result of drivers who failed to operate their vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
Speeding is by far one of the leading factors in a significant number of fatal collisions. In fact, according to statistics, speeding is a factor in nearly one-third of all fatal accidents that take place in the United States. Unfortunately, there are several other negligent actions that can lead to the death of innocent drivers and passengers.
Another common cause of car accidents is talking or texting on the phone while driving. It’s become so common that many states have now made it illegal. Even hands-free devices can be a distraction, as drivers are often tempted to take their eyes off the road to look at their phones.
Failing to yield is another frequent cause of accidents. Drivers who fail to yield put themselves and others in danger. When making a turn, drivers may not see an oncoming car or pedestrian. As a result, it can lead to a devastating collision. This is especially true at intersections where there are multiple lanes and cars coming from different directions.
