Wilcox, MO (November 15, 2022) – Authorities have confirmed that 33-year-old Jesse Christian of Burlington Junction has died following a traffic accident that occurred in Nodaway County on Monday evening. Calls for assistance came in at around 8 p.m., on November 14.
According to reports provided by authorities, a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling northbound on US Highway 71 when it collided with a southbound 2013 Dodge Durango. The impact of the collision caused the Silverado to overturn and come to rest on its roof on the eastbound side of the road.
The Dodge went off the west side of the roadway.
The driver of the Chevrolet, identified as Christian, was fatally injured in the crash. He was pronounced dead on-site by Nodaway County Coroner Vince Shelby.
The driver of the Chevrolet, 22-year-old Dillon Mendez, sustained serious injuries. He was transported by Nodaway County Ambulance to Mosaic Life Care in St Joseph, Missouri, for emergency medical care.
The incident remains under investigation by authorities at this time.
