Ava, MO – Matthew Hershberger & Nicole Hershberger Injured in Three-Vehicle Wreck on Highway 5

Ava, MO (October 17, 2022) – A man and woman from Mountain Home, Arkansas, were both hospitalized as a result of a multi-vehicle collision that occurred in Douglas County.

According to preliminary investigations, and around 7:45 p.m., on October 15, a 2015 Hyundai Veloster was traveling on Highway 5, when it crossed over the center line and struck a 2021 Toyota RAV4 before running off the left side of the road and overturning.

The impact of the collision caused the Toyota to run off the right side of the road, strike a guardrail, and return to the main lines of travel. The vehicle then traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail.

Debris from the collision struck a 2021 Ford Bronco, causing some damage.

The driver of the Toyota, 48-year-old Matthew Hershberger, and his passenger, 47-year-old Nicole Hershberger, were both injured in the crash. The two victims were transported by ambulance to Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, Arkansas, for emergency care.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is actively investigating the crash at this time.
