Avilla, MO – Linda Getty Killed in Car Crash on Nutmeg Rd

Avilla, MO (October 31, 2022) – A traffic incident took place in Jasper County that claimed one woman’s life on Saturday morning. On October 29, troopers from the Missouri State Highway Patrol were dispatched to a collision on Nutmeg Road.

According to reports, around 11:39 a.m., a crash involving a 2007 Chevrolet Impala in a 2018 Ford fusion occurred on Nutmeg Road is four miles northwest of Avilla, Missouri. The impact of the crash caused the Ford to go off the roadway and struck a utility pole. The driver was ejected from the vehicle.

The driver, 73-year-old Linda Getty of Avilla, Missouri, was fatally injured. She was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash by Jasper County Deputy coroner James Harrison. A second victim, 21-year-old Christian Blevins of Carthage, Missouri, was transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Joplin, Missouri, where he underwent treatment for injuries.

The crash remains under investigation at this time.
